Nintendo has never been known for its open relationship with third-party developers. While other companies like Sony and Microsoft have a wide selection of titles created by outside sources, Nintendo prefers to create mostly in-house. Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda Softworks vice president of public relations and marketing Pete Hines had a few comments about how Nintendo’s lack of support for third-party companies is an issue.

“They involved us very early on…they say, ‘here’s what we’re doing, here’s what we’re planning, here’s how we think it’s going to work’ to hear what we thought,” Hines said.
